Gavin Radkey

GAVIN MICHAEL RADKEY, Data Manager

Gavin Michael Radkey joined DF/Net in 2007, as a Data Validator, while in his third year at the University of Washington. During this time, Gavin was a research assistant to Professor Michael McCann in his work on tort reform. The result of this research can be found in McCann’s recently published book, "Fault Lines: Tort Law as Cultural Practice." Gavin graduated from the University of Washington in 2008 with a BA in Law, Societies & Justice.

After graduation, Gavin became the Data Coordinator for the Partners PrEP study. His responsibility in this role was largely to assist the Database Manager with the maintenance of the PrEP study. In this role he helped to guide the priorities of data entry staff, oversaw special data projects, learned the basics of the R language for statistical computing and graphics , generated monthly QC reports for multiple centers, and created and ran many dozens of edit checks for quality assurance. In addition to this work, 2009 presented Gavin with the opportunity to oversee his own study. This smaller 10-site study for an industry client gave him additional experience in the management of clinical studies. With a wide array of DataFax skills learned in the preceding three years, Gavin was promoted to Data Manager I in June 2010. In this position, Gavin manages many technical aspects of the study while still being able to step in and help at any other position when needed. Gavin plans on returning to school in Fall 2011 to study law.
