When Lisa and I started DF/Net, we chose to build our company around the principles of being flexible and adaptable to meet our client’s needs. The favorite parts of my job still involve solving difficult and unique data management problems for our clients. We’ve had the opportunity to work on several pivotal trials that have advanced health globally. The phrase “we’ve always done it that way” just doesn’t apply when you are working on a project that is a “world’s first”. I’m most proud of the work that our clients have accomplished and the part that our team has played to make their research a reality.
My work with our clients (who over the years became our friends) has taught me that although the challenges may differ, the theme of wanting to collect the best quality data to support the research is always constant. No matter what the circumstances, people truly want to do their best.
When not at DF/Net, I really enjoy fly fishing. The Pacific Northwest offers so many choices to quickly be on a river in the wilderness. It’s physical and mental activity that is the complete opposite of being in the office. As another nod to my Canadian past I’ve also been curling competitively and recreationally for over 25 years.
