Clinical Data Manager
I have worked in bio-medical research for over 30 years. This has spanned from my early experience working at the bench on the role of lipo-proteins in cholesterol and T-cell receptors in immunology, to international specimen archiving, computer programming, and information management. The last three years I have been a part of the DF/Net team, working currently as a Data Manager and Clinical Coder for MedDRA and WHODrug.
During my previous work in international research and clinical trials, I traveled to sub-Saharan Africa, India and Bangladesh. This travel has given me firsthand experience of challenges at study sites and deeper insight to the demands on Research Investigators. It has helped me see how we at DF/Net are the foundational data link between the study sites and the Investigators. It is rewarding to be part of a larger team bringing a new drug or medical process to existence that can make a difference in many people’s lives. Here at DF/Net, we use the term “team” frequently, as it is essential to our success as a company.
To me, growing as a person must involve lifelong learning. I’ve always valued learning new and interesting things whether it is DNA extraction, working at a forge, raising chickens, or learning a programming language. Learning something new may not always be easy, but that is often why it’s so valuable. Working at DF/Net can be summed up in the words “opportunity to grow.”
