As Chief Operating Officer (COO), my role is to make sure that the whole organization is working on the right things and doing them well. This has to be a team effort, so I first work with the rest of leadership on strategy to align on what clients we are trying to reach and how we will meet their needs. That leads on to what kind of organization we need and clarifying roles and expectations. I also look at our processes, trying to identify bottlenecks and ways to remove them. A final area of focus is improving the information we have to help us make better decisions. That involves tracking and analyzing financial performance and how our sales pipeline is developing.
My career has spanned multiple industries and I've worked in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. I spent many years with Starbucks where, amongst other things, I learned the importance of company culture, how we treat and communicate with each other, in creating an environment where everyone can give of their best. Most recently I was the COO at IDRI a long-standing client of DF/Net.
Originally from England, I came to the Seattle area via New York. I love being outside in the wonderful natural spaces we have here, whether it's biking, skiing, hiking or once upon a time trail running.
