DFdiscover 2026 Release: What’s New in Version 5.11
The latest DFdiscover & DFengage releases are now available.
We’re excited to share the release of DFdiscover 5.11 and DFengage 2.5, bringing new capabilities designed to support stronger protocol adherence, high-quality data, and regulatory-ready clinical research. Custom Push Notifications in DFengage
DFdiscover now supports custom timing and content for push notifications for ePRO participants in the DFengage mobile app. This feature enhances participant engagement and protocol compliance with timely reminders that align with study requirements.

ePRO Notifications Configuration in DFsetup
Push notifications sent via DFengage mobile are now configured in DFsetup, both existing generic notifications as well as visit-specific messaging with custom timing and content, including multi-language support. Current studies using DFengage mobile will need to enable notifications in DFsetup after the upgrade.

Option to Disable Edit Checks in DFweb
A new setting is available in DFweb for authorized users to disable edit checks during the login session, providing more control for specialized scenarios such as training and testing.

Connection Issue Detection in DFweb
Some organizations implement strict firewalls controls, resulting in issues accessing DFweb for some users. We’ve added a new warning message if there is an issue, helping people work with their IT team to allowlist/whitelist the DFdiscover API and enable the use of DFweb.

Region-Limited SMS Option for 2FA
DFdiscover provides limited, optional support for SMS delivery of two-factor authentication codes through Azure Communication Services. This provides an administrator-controlled, per-user alternative to email for 2FA in supported regions. On DFnet-managed servers this option is disabled by default.

Restrict Server Connections to DFws API
A new configuration option for DFws allows system administrators managing their own API server to restrict access to specified DFdiscover servers only. This adds further security by ensuring the API only connects to authorized servers.

Updated DFcollect Device Requirements
DFcollect has received several stability & maintenance updates. As a result, DFcollect 5.11 will require devices to be running Android 10 or later or iPadOS/iOS 16 or later.

DFsources, the mobile app for source document capture, has also received a maintenance update with version 1.0.4 available from the app stores.
